The Gift of Ahhhhh....
Magical is the word that comes to mind to describe Spa Day 2010. The Spa Day Dream Team volunteers (yours truly, Dottie & Robert Zveibil, Rochelle & Richard Horowitz, Anne Goldberg, Hindy Zeifman, Charles & Rochelle Tischler, and Marcia Peschitz) devoted more than 250 hours to bring this amazing experience to you, and we succeeded!

About 40 people attended Spa Day, double last year's attendance! Half the attendees were men (great idea, Rabbi Marc to open this event to all), and their energy enhanced the day. After all, why keep the sweet relaxation from anyone who wants it! At the end of the day, everyone wore bliss and rejeuvenation on their faces. We succeeded!

Our practitioners were so excellent (they really are the best in their class) that many people signed up for more sessions throughout the day... and that was no easy task, because our schedule was filled! So many, many thanks to our practitioners who offered even more services to fill everyone's desires. We certainly did have a Dream Team.

In the left column are written comments we received after the event, so glance at them, and plan to attend next year's. This was truly a delicious day. You'll be glad you did, as they are truly excellent at what they do.

In addition to the sweet, physical delights, the Rabbi evoked our spirituality topping off an already perfect day. Thank you for being part of our village to manifest this joyful occasion.

Thank you Dottie and Robert Zveibil for opening your home, your sanctuary, to us. Rochelle Horowitz, Dottie and I worked for months organizing and tweaking it to make this day an even more perfect event than last year's. Richard Horowitz and Robert Zveibil helped organize the house the night before. Hindy Zeifman and Anne Goldberg filled the great responsibility of checking in attendees, volunteers, practitioners and instructors, then checking everyone out and overseeing the silent auction. Marcia Peschitz, Charles and Rochelle Tishler made sure the kitchen was always stocked so no one longed for anything.

Our phone committee (Lowell Gannon, Richard Grove, Bob Heaton, Jonathan Rosen and Tova Weinstock) helped assure our attendance to make this day the success it was. Irene Yovu, always a big supporter, donated an awesome gift basket worth more than $300 for our raffle as well as countless items for our Goody Bags. Other Goody bag donors included Nancy Mendelson, American Apothecary and Evan's Essentials bath salts.

A Silent auction featured jewelry donated by Caren Vivado, Anne Goldberg, Dottie Zveibil, Jenae; gift baskets donated by Jacci Nieves and Marti Sinnreich (another fabulous $300 gift basket); a painting by Rabbi Shoni and one by Jenae; handmade waterfall by Hindy Zeifman. Thank you so much.

Six massage therapists (Peter Fox, Andrew Guzik, Mitchell Schneider, Tracey Silber, Bob Singer and Linda Sutt), two reiki masters (Aimee Davila and Robert Zveibil), Aromatherapists Nelly Munoz-Perez and Helena Nath, and Facialist and Mary Kay specialist Mary Anne Connor donated a full day of love, talent and physical delight to the enjoyment and benefit of approximately 40 attendees.

Attendee and pilates instructor Andrea Pinsky, QiGong Master Lisa Lumiere, Feng Shui Master Hindy Zeifman, Yogi Steve Sperber, and our own Rabbi Marc offered classes throughout the day. Spa Day attendees never had a lack of relaxing, stimulating or energizing activities thanks to these people.

Carol Himmel expressed everyone's feelings when she said, "Sign me up for next month's Spa Day!" Well, that will have to wait for next year! Everyone had such a fantastic time, and it is because of your efforts. Thank you again... so very, very much.

Spa Day 2009

Beautiful Weather, Beautiful People, Beautiful Day
Spa Day 2009 could not have been more perfect. The bright blue day, the palm tree shaded grass just enhanced what would have been a spectacular day anyway. Upon entering Ken Fisher's magnificent oceanfront home, you were greeted with sweet music, candle light and the promise of more gifts upon departure.

The classes
The day began with a Stress-Melter led by Dottie Zveibil. Attendees spent time got to know each other and dance their way into a beautiful beginning. No matter how harried anyone was when they arrived, those feelings were replaced by calm and delight which carried forward every minute until the end of this glorious day.

Spa Day attendees enjoyed a water aerobics class by Carol Rushing, a certified instructor who you can find at The Red Door; Standing Qigong and Qigong in motion class led by Donna Levine; and Renewal Yoga and meditation classes led by our own Rabbi Marc.

Other activities
Many practitioners generously donated their time and skill indulging us with Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki and Reflexology. Please visit their businesses.

In addition to a vendor area with jewelry, celebrity items and much, much, much more from Karen Tina Sheskin, Anne Goldberg stocked a table with vintage jewelry from Keith's mother and her own fabulous crystal creations, The Chosen consigned beautiful Judaica that made us all want to adorn our homes with, Dr. Marti Sinnreich donated a silent auction item of Rejuvenex and Cosmesis face and body products, and Irene Yovu donated additional items for another silent auction potpourri collection of items for cleaning your home and body.

The lunch menu was a selection of delectables that included:

Almost everyone stayed the entire day to enjoy Rabbi Marc's 4-5pm meditation session. Jacci Nieves won the Raffle, which was Elyn Zerfas's idea. She approached Whole Foods who generously donated an $87 gift basket loaded with bath and body products including Kiss My Face.

At the end of the day, both tired and refreshed, everyone left with an incredible gift bag. Donations included...

Thank you Rochelle Horowitz and Dottie Zveibil for co-chairing this big event. It was possible because of your tremendous effort. Ken Fisher not only donated his beautiful home. He parked cars, moved furniture, burned CDs to his iPod so we could have our music piped into every room and the outdoors.

Annie Goldberg, Renee Greene, Sandy King, Bob Heaton, Myrna Wolf, Donna Levine and Marcia Peschitz helped clean, set up, make phone calls, find practitioners, and plan.

Thank you all so much for your time and your hearts. We love you and appreciate your help in creating this absolutely magnificent event. At the end of the day, everyone agreed this was as good as the best spas.
