Rabbi David Curiel is a seeker, prayer leader and teacher, as well as the co-founder and spiritual leader of the Asiyah Jewish Community (www.asiyah.org) in Cambridge/Somerville, MA. His passion is to live and teach Judaism in a way that makes himself and others better people—inside and out—and better citizens/stewards of our planet. David has led prayer and nourished souls with Nava Tehila in Jerusalem and Romemu in Manhattan, sat multiple vipassana retreats at the Insight Meditation Society and elsewhere, and held sacred space for groups large and small across the country for the past 15 years. He carries smicha/ordination from Aleph: the Alliance for Jewish Renewal as Rabbi as well as Mashpi’a Ruchani/Spiritual Director—a practice of spiritual companionship to help people investigate their relationship with Divinity/Source/the Eternal—and holds an MBA from Indiana University. Currently, David is training to become a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing®, a body-centered healing practice. He lives in Somerville, MA with his wife, daughter and two cats.
