And the Lord told Moses to remove the firepans of the men who had sinned at the cost of their lives, and hammer them for the altar – for they had become sacred.

Moses gathers the staffs of the twelve chieftains of each ancestral house.  The staff of Aaron sprouts overnight, affirming Aaron and the Levites as God’s choice to serve in the Tent of Meeting.

The people quarrel about their thirst, and Moses releases the Waters of Meribah from a rock.

Chukat: Numbers 19:1 – 22:1

The Lord states that Moses did not trust in Him, thus Moses is denied from entering the Promised Land.

Doubt shows lack of confidence in your partnership with God and in God’s decision to choose you as a partner for the task.  Even though you may think you have faith in God, your faith is diminished when you do not have faith in yourself.  (Creativity, p. 272)
