Vayikra:  Leviticus 1:1 – 5:26

“If a person touches anything impure….or if he touches the impurities of man….”

The purpose of your soul is to connect you with your Divine essence.  Recognize that the soul can do no wrong.  As your soul merges with the Divine, there is only purity.  (Intention, p. 41)

Tzav: Leviticus 6:1 – 8:36

More details on the burnt offering…The priest takes the ashes and places them beside the altar.

Most people recognize the holiness of milestone moments – the birth of a newborn, the blossoming of a flower, a magnificent sunset.  Yet holiness exists also in the ordinary moments and interludes of everyday living.  Every moment is a miracle unfolding, and every person is holiness in action.  (Intention, p. 53)

The priest takes off his vestments, puts on other garments, and carries the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.

Think of the ways in which you separate one thing from another in order to understand them better, then notice how you need to bring them together in order to effect change.  You may separate one relationship from another, or one task from another, or one thought from another; yet in reality they operate at maximum potential only when they are integrated into a unique whole.  (Understanding, p. 91)

Emptying, releasing, and opening is a continuous spiritual practice for receiving God’s fullness.  As your skill increases, this practice not only unties the tangles and smooths the edges of limited ways of being; it also brings you nearer to God and to your own Divine nature.  (Intention, p. 37)

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 – 5 Nisan 5778

Tzav: Leviticus 6:1 – 8:36

As the Lord commanded, Moses sets the headdress on Aaron’s head, then the golden plate, the holy crown.

Traditionally, when a man or woman became a king or a queen, one needed to have a halo that others could recognize in order to call them by their title.  So they had a crown made that glowed and shone.  When they wore the crown on their head, it said, “Look at me, see how I shine.”  However, as children of God, we are all empowered light bearers.  When we touch the Infinite, there is no need to wear the crown.  We already radiate the light of God. – Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi  (Intention, p. 31)
