Nitzavim: Deuteronomy 29:9 – 30:20

Moses is now 120 years old, and near the end of his days.

You were born to fulfill a unique destiny as a unique being.  Love yourself for your uniqueness.  In loving yourself unconditionally, you create an environment of unconditional love in which others can benefit.  (Creativity, p. 271)

Nitzavim: Deuteronomy 29:9 – 30:20

Moses charges Joshua to be strong as he leads the people of the Promised Land.

As you act with valor and become self-motivated, you affect not only your life, but the lives of all whom you touch and those who are yet to be.  Now is not the time to slouch.  If you need to, take time to rest and go silent first.  Then muster up your strength to move forward toward your goals and upward toward your ordained destiny.  (Success, p. 219)

Nitzavim: Deuteronomy 29:9 – 30:20

The Lord tells Moses that after his death, the people will go astray, and God’s Presence will be hidden.

Sometimes you may get carried away in the light, or even in the shadow, and forget that it is the love of God that is encouraging your physical well-being, emotional growth, and spiritual ascendancy.  (Compassion, p. 119)

Vayelech:  Deuteronomy 31:1 – 31:30

Pause a moment now, and recall the turning points in your life.  Notice the pattern they weave in determining your goals and your destiny.  As you remember the milestones of your life, the energy of those events surrounds you as though the events were happening now, outside of time, inside you.  The more positive the recall, the more loving the sensations.  (Creativity, p. 271)

Vayelech:  Deuteronomy 31:1 – 31:30

Who shall be written in God’s Book of Life…..

Today and every day, you stand before God, who unconditionally loves, approves, and accepts you for being just who you are.  You are holy.  When you stand before God open, vulnerable, aware, and conscious of your commitment to journey the path ahead in the uniqueness of who you are, God supports, assists, and guides you.  (Nobility, p. 298)

Tuesday, September 7, 2021 – 1 Tishrei 5782 – Rosh Hashanah I

Vayelech:  Deuteronomy 31:1 – 31:30

The Lord told Moses, “In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe complete rest, a sacred occasion commemorated with loud blasts.”

The shofar is symbolic of the voice of God heard at the revelation at Sinai.  It is the symbol of awakening to the end of jealousies, fears, doubts, and insecurities in the name of God.  It is the sound of awakening to the spark of God that resides in every atom of creation, in every breath of the human, in every vision of the universe.  (Strength, p. 161)

Vayelech:  Deuteronomy 31:1 – 31:30

We read the Akedah, the binding of Isaac.

The word “sacrifice” does not mean to do without; it means to make sacred, to lift toward a higher purpose.  In Hebrew, the word for sacrifice is karbon (plural: karbonot), meaning “to draw nearer” to God.  It is a gift of a quality or matter within yourself that you offer as a way of ascending close to the Source, or serving a more meaningful purpose in your life. (Strength, p. 160)
