First and most importantly, as we live each day in a very different world around us, we hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and well. We know how difficult the past months have been for many of you and so many have been touched by illness, sadness, and loss. Yet, as different as each of our lives are now, the need for connection remains. We are heartened by and thank you for the ongoing engagement from such a large number of you in our Friday Night Services, Shabbos learning, and ongoing programming.
As we re-imagine our collective experience for this High Holy Days season, the health and safety of our community live in tandem with our deep desire to pray together. And so, while it is clear we cannot celebrate High Holy Days together in person this year, the Temple Adath Or community will come “Together As One” with a shared sense of renewal and hope for the coming year. Our dynamic array of virtual offerings will continue to provide a rich tapestry for soul searching, reflection, and connection.
Please join Rabbis Marc and Phillip Labowitz and our TAO community as we worship together virtually at our High Holy Day Services. Continue your tradition, or join us for the first time, and be welcomed in joy as we bring in the New Year together. We exist because of you and to serve you. The Days of Awe mark a time in the Jewish calendar that urge you into contemplation and self-awareness. With guidance, they offer an opportunity to take a deeper, more mindful review of your life over the past year, with a glance at how you can do and be more; at how you can express Tikkun Olam and do your part to make the world a better place.
Please join us as a guest (suggested donation is $118 per person, $360 per family) or as a member on Rosh Hashanah Day 1 – Saturday, September 19 and Rosh Hashanah Day 2 – Sunday, September 20, and then again on Yom Kippur for Kol Nidre on Sunday, September 27 and Yom Kippur on Monday, September 28. It is necessary to register for each service in order to get your individual links. Please register for only the services you plan to attend. USE THIS LINK TO REGISTER. Guests, if you join TAO in the month following the High Holy Days, your ticket donation ($118 per person, $360 per family) will be subtracted from your membership Join TAO. You will relish in the Jewish Renewal experience anytime you wish throughout the year as you become a part of our TAO Family.
Yom Kippur is distinguished by the Yizkor Remembrance Service in which you are led on a meditative journey. Hashem is asked to remember the souls of your loved ones who have passed; family members – husbands and wives, parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and children. During this inspiring service you will be given space to remember them too. Whether you will be worshipping with us or not, memorialize your departed loved ones in the Yizkor Scroll of Remembrance Book. In addition to the names being displayed, on our website and in our newsletter, special prayers for your loved ones will be recited by the Rabbis. Another way to memorialize loved ones is with our Yahrtzeit plaque on which you can have their names permanently inscribed. Please honor those who have passed – for information and ordering, click here.
