God tells Moses to ascend Mount Nebo, to view the land he is forbidden to enter.

Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 5 Tishrei 5782 – Shabbat Shuva

Vayelech:  Deuteronomy 31:1 – 31:30

This is Shabbat Shuva, the “Sabbath of Returning,” which falls on the shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  It is a time for reflection and repentance.

On the deepest level, whether you are aware of it or not, forgiveness has already occurred.  It is waiting for anger and shame to subside in order to be recognized.  (Compassion, p. 139)

Ha’azinu:  Deuteronomy 32:1 – 32:52

“I make this covenant, with its sanctions, not with you alone, but….with those who are not with us here this day.”

The energy that you exert now in the thoughts you are thinking can be accessed in multiple realities, manifested in numerous locations, and utilized throughout all time.  (Nobility, p. 301)

Moses blesses the Israelites as he bids them farewell.

When your words are bound to their root in heaven, they speak what is essential.  To assist in staying mindful of your actions and speech, you may recite prayers or invoke your own blessings.  (Glory, p. 260)

Moses reminds the Israelites that God is their Father, the One who created them.

Wednesday, September 15, 2021 – 9 Tishrei 5782 – Erev Yom Kippur

Ha’azinu:  Deuteronomy 32:1 – 32:52

This is Erev Yom Kippur, the chant of Kol Nidre to release all vows, and know forgiveness.

Return is known in Hebrew as teshuvah.  As you let go of mistakes, you return to your own divine nature, to the uniqueness of who you are, and above all, to reunion with an unconditionally loving God.  (Compassion, p. 136)
